Well, that's fine, but it's ridiculous to expect another 5.78 season -- really from anyone, but let alone someone who has been as good as Beckett has for as long as he has.
His WHIP and ERA+ from those years (ERA plus is adjusted for league/park. 100 is average). 2006 -- 1.29, 95 2007 -- 1.14, 145 2008 -- 1.18, 115 2009 -- 1.19, 122 2010 -- 1.53, 75 Yeah, he wasn't great his first year adjusting to the AL (though he still went 16-10), but only one year in five sticks out like a sore thumb. Unless he's still hurt, is there any reason, other than dislike and a bad spring training inning, to expect it again? He's only 31, and he still throws hard and has good stuff -- 2006 was the only year in his career in which he struck out fewer than 8.2 batters per nine innings. If I have the chance to get him in my fantasy league, I'm grabbing him. Should at least be one of the top 20 starters in the AL.
