I use Iodine very sparingly. I use TAT iodine. My thoughts are if you have
a light load in your tank, and feed the inhabitants regularly (I feed daily,
rotating the foods I feed), and you also do regular water changes (weekly to
biweekly), and use a salt that's designed for reef tanks and contains trace
elements (I use reef crystals), then trace additives are rarely needed. If
you have a heavily loaded tank, then they are essential. I'd back off on
the iodine a little and see what happens.

What Iodine have you found best? The white tipped problem did occur after I
added a cap full of (all Kent Prod.) 1) Super Chelated Iron 2) Strontium &
Molybdenum 3) Tech•I Iodine Supplement. The Iodine is a change 1 cap/week
Was using concentrated Iodine 8 drops/day. I keep thinking the Iodine may
be
the key!
