Hey Tom. I epoxy some of mine in place, but try not to if I can help it,
simply because I move too often and so I want to be able to remove my corals
from the reef and then reposition them after I set the reef back up. The
problem is that the SPS will plate off the base and attach themselves to
large rocks, which, in my case, can be a problem. Is what I usually do is
use a smaller rock, attach it to that and then place that rock into the
reef. That will help keep them from tumbling, but does not stop it from
happening. You can also lightly attach the smaller rock with epoxy to the
reef, but once again, run the risk of the coral covering the smaller rock
and attaching to the reef....

        Hey Frank,
I have a few SPS also. None are more then 7" below water level. The
Merlina
is right below like 2" and since it has dense packed branches it
gets direct
flow from my seaswirl. My monti's, brown purple tip and pink, took a
while
to get their color up.I also have a acropora Chesterfieldensis(sp?)
that one
is super bright green and that is about 6" below surface. My MH are
only 5"
from the water.I'll be getting more frags soon. I'm just learning.
My
problem is tumbling ,does anyone epoxy these in place?
        HTH
        Tom
