While I'm sure everyone agrees that skimmer have "good" and "bad" days, I've
never had a skimmer output GALLONS of water in a short period of time unless
an adjustment was wrong regardless of anything added to the tank.

Have other people had their skimmer output gallons of water in a short
period of time and had the adjustments correct ?

Shane,

My cpr bak-pak2 would periodically go nuts and foam like crazy every few
weeks. It drove me nuts trying to figure it out, until I found out that my
significant-other, SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed), was adding some Kent
Pro-Tech Coat because she "thought it would help." After a long discussion
we haven't had that problem since. Try to isolate any additives or
chemicals that may have been added prior to the foaming.

Rich
