         I tried a Yellow with a Desjardini . . . It didn't work out very
well. They were both aproximately the same size (the Yellow possibly a
little larger) and they were at each other constantly with the scalpels.

I have never seen mine eat Valonia. I have had very little in my
tank, but I'm not sure if that is because it isn't growing, or if the
Desjardini is eating it. I did have a couple of Valonia balloons a couple
of months ago, out of reach of the Desjardini even if he wanted it, so I
added an emerald crab. I never saw the crab eat the Valonia either, but it
was gone within a week or so.
By the way, I absolutely love my Zebrasoma desjardinii. I've
wanted one ever since I saw a plate sized adult at the New Jersey Aquarium.
