Hi,
I would go with 10000K PC bulbs along with either 7100K actinic or NO bulbs
that equal the same wattage. The older 5700K and 6500K PC bulbs are too
yellow. PC lamps use far less energy than VHO and barely any energy compared
with metal halides. They run cool to the touch and require minimal cooling
(like fans). The bulbs also last longer. Here is a picture of a tank with
2 -55 watt PC lamps and 2-28 watt PC lamps. It is a 46 gallon bowfront.
