I went to home depot lastnight and the sand they had wasnt white at all.
I said playsand but was mostly brown in color. is this the same stuff you
are talking about?
also I do have a skimmer, its an euroreef skimmer, dont know model #
as far as white patches no I never got any die off, just the green over ran
the pink.
in the darker corners the pink is very vibrant and colorfull, but the top
of the reef is very green. I assumed it was due to the increased lighting.
I run 2 400w mh 65k iwasaki
and 4 vho 110w actinics. I recently moved the lights to 18 inches over the
water from less than 10 inches. So i have to play the waiting game and see
if that helps.
Im sure mt po4 is off the chart, I upped my water changes to 20% a week and
started po4 remover pads in sump.. I did take out the bioballs in the sump.
they werent in the sump long maybe 3 weeks tops. I just didnt take them out
when I got a new sump.
