Sounds like classic Rapid Tissue Necrosis. There's not much to be done for
it, but dip daily for 15 minutes at a time for a week or so (or until
recession stops). If you have a quarentine tank, move your affected
colonies to there. One coral undergoing RTN can trigger the reaction in
other corals, so it's important to get the affected ones out right away.
Acros, stylophra, poncillopora, and montipora (esp. capricornis) are all
very susceptible to this chain reaction IME.
Best luck...I know this kind of thing is heartbreaking.
