I have a question for you. I have one of Ron's skimmers also. I have the
5" diamter 6 foot version with 3 airstones. MY question for you is how long
does it take for your skimmer cup at the top to fill up? Or does it fill up
at all. I am trying to find out how much gunk builds up in your cup and how
long before you empty it. I am wondering if I am overskimming as I have
been empyting basically green water every day. In other words, the cup
would fill about to the riser tube inside the collection cup. Just curious
how you run yours.

Take a hammer or something to knock off the top where the larger piece
is at. Just hit around and it will come off - make sure you take the
skimmer clear top off - I broke one-.pull the rigid tubing up carefully
and at the bottom you will see two or three air stones depending on the
size skimmer you have. Replace all stone with coralife 3" air stones
(they seems to work the best). Put new Teflon on the base (two rapes)
and put the top back on the way it came off. Let me know if you have
