Ok, I know this topic is what caused the discussion, but i got to ask you
another thing.
I gotta admitt that a few years ago I was an ignorat in marine tanks stuff.
So when I went to my LFS to buy calcium, the salesmen sold me kalkwasser.
And his directions to add it to the tank where: mix the kalkwasser with
water and pour it ALL!!! in the tank. I did so, and the results were... a
white slime all over my tank (without counting the ph which must have been
up to the sky) incluiding the inner parts of my uv sterilizer. That white
slime could be taken away with a fiber pad and was no problem at all... but
how would I clean the inner walls of the quartz tube in the uv lamp?? Im
still looking for that answer. I ran the lamp with water and a high
concentration of chlorine but it didnt work. So now I have a useless lamp.
I gotta mentin that it is a coralifes, so it is like a fluidized bed filter
that hangs on the tank, so I cant introduce anything into the tube because
there is a 90 turn in the intake and the outake of the water flow.
Any suggestions of how to clean my quartz tube??
Any help would be really, really appreciatted. thanks
Marco
