I thought about it once, but I looked into the price of some of the boards that would have to be installed and they made the Medusa look like a giveaway...
Prices may have come down in the years since I first looked into it, but there is a reason some of these toys cost so much money.

speaking of controllers, has anybody looked at aquarium automation using a PC?  there are a couple companies who have written the code and developed the control interface to allow a home computer to monitor and control ph, ec, tds, temp, lamps, etc.  just curious if anybody has tried this.  from what i've read it could to give a run for the money to the micro-controllers.  shane m.
