yeah thanks, the time affects the efficency because the water must be at least exposed one second to the uv rays so they can do their job and kill the parasites and bacteria that enters the lamp. So a slow water flow is the key to make it work properly.

I have heard that flow rates affect the killing capacity of UV lights.  Is that true?  You might want to check with the manufacturer of your UV for correct flow.  FWIW, Rick
