If you really care about your clam then consider retrofitting your lights
with 2-3 x 55 watt power compacts or even better a 175 watt pendant. I am
assuming your clam is very small, that is most likely why you are doing OK
with it. Small tridacna species clams rely mostly on filter feeding and not
light. Your clam is probably surviving off the excess nitrates caused by
your UGF. If you care about your clam, then start feeding DT's live
phytoplankton and upgrade your lighting. Otherwise give it to someone who
can take care of it.
