Well, that ribbon eel has eaten fishes i would never thought would fit his
mouth. Probably will stay apart from that blenny, and also from nudis.
Thanks.-----Original Message-----

I have a tank setup solely for aiptaisa production if I ever get all my
aptasias in my reef taken care of. Right now I am raising the aiptasia in
jars in a closet, this produces many small aiptasia that are perfect for
newly born nudis. A trigger would definitely eat nudibranchs, maybe not the
berghia as they use the stinging cells of the aiptasia for protection.
Probably would be best to cycle your rocks through a tank that had many
berghia nudibranches.I am pretty sure that a ribbon eel would eat a blenny, but I guess it would
depend on the size of the 2...

Andrew, but what will happen when your aiptasias are gone?? your nudibranchs
will starve?
Will a trigger eat it?
Im also planning on buying a lawnmower blenny but in not sure if my blue
ribbon eel will eat it. Once, i introduced 2 clowns and that eel ate them
both, so i dont wanna end up buying such an expensive meal again.

Sounds to me like a Hypselodoris bullockii. Know one knows what they eat
but I can assure you it is not microalgae. More likely some type of sponge
or gorgonian. Anyway, the only nudibranchs that I have had great success
with are the berghia nudibranchs. I have a pair that breed regularly and
they are very beautiful, not as colorful as some but still pretty. The main
reason to have them: they eat aipstasia, they use their antennae to "tap"
the anemone until it retracts and then they eat it whole. If the aiptasia
is large, multiple nudis will attack from the base until it is gone...

All, I saw yesterday a purple and yellow nudibranch at my lfs, they told me
that nudibranchs eat micro algae and that no special care is needed for them
to thrive.
Is this true? has anybody had experience with nudibranchs? or should I just
let him at the lfs?
Also they have turbo snails and lawnmower blennies, and im undecided on
which to go so they can eat my brown algae in the back glass of my tank.
Any comment?

Title: RE: Nudibranch
I
think its obvious that i want a tank with lr, some fishes and some
inverts.
And
thats exactly why Im asking all the reefers their experiences and advice
to know if i can introduce this fish or that invert and so
on.
As for
now, i havent had a SINGLE PROBLEM between my fishes and inverts. My fishes do
what they want but doesnt bother at all my mushrooms, polips and corals. Of
course i know i cant add any clown or damsel, or any snail or feather duster,
but there are some inverts that will thrive in my tank even do I have some
fishes. My only problems have been between fishes, and some reefers should have
problems between corals.
I
dont think its this way: fishes or reef. In nature they all live together, I
know there is a lot of more space in the sea but the principle is the
same.
I
dont want to have a reef, just my 2 corals and some polips and
mushrooms.
