I've got something wierd in my tank and wonder if you guys could help.
I saw it about 3 months ago, it was about 3 inches long 1 inch wide,
transparent skin
with black dots on it (my wife reckons they're blue) and very flat.
It slides it's way around on the rocks, glass and sand.
It came out arond the same time in the evening (lights on) not really
bothering
anything else (hermit crabs, shrimp, corals) and would then go back to
whence it came.
I managed to take a picture of it and showed it to the lfs, they said it
wasn't a problem
and have that in their tanks at home (don't they always??!).
After a week or two I never saw it again, I later rearranged the rocks in
tank so I
figured it may have died in the melee.
But to my amazement I saw it again a couple of nights ago
bigger (about 4 inches) and apparently badder.
I've a larger hermit crab in the tank and it showed an unwelcomed liking to
the crab by wrapping itself around it, I had to use my prongs to scare him
off.
I tried to lift it out with the prongs but it's a slippery fella as it
managed to slip through
each time, the poor crab seemed to be covered in goo as there was sand
sticking
all over him. I have quite a few empty hermit crab shells in the tank but
I thought
they were dying due to heat (tanks about 82) , water conditions (all test
prove fine) but
now it could be down to Slimey.
Any ideas/ suggestions welcome. Thanx. (also what does lol mean?)
