Hi everyone. I am thinking about purchasing a wave maker and a couple of
pumps to run with it. I have a few questions. First I am think I would
like to use a couple of self-contained loops with multiple out puts on each
I am leaning towards using 2 mag 9 pumps on each loop. I have 2 questions
about the pumps. First, does anyone out there know how well these pumps
will hold up to the start stop of a wave maker? They work great as return
pumps but I have not heard about anyone using them like this. Second, at
950 gallons per hour any ideas on how many 1/2 pvc outputs I could use and
still have enough flow to create some movement across a 125 gal tank? I was
thinking of using about 3 output per loop if I could get to 4 that would
even be better. I may try to find a way to fit some attachments if it
doesn't start to be too much plumbing in my tank.
My other question is about the wavemaker. What kind of recommendations do I
get from out there? I think that I am leaning towards the Tsunami but I
would like to know if anyone is using the power strip with the wave making
function on some of the outlets? I am a little concerned about using this
because it does not appear to have a soft start feature like the Other wave
makers. Does this feature make that big of a difference?

Thanks
Ben
