A while ago, a few emails went around the list about instructions to build a
tank. Ben, I think you originated the email. It is a plywood/epoxy tank with
a glass front. The one that we discussed is a 500 gallon tank on the GARF
site. Because I am beginning to look at new and larger tanks, I am open to
the possibility of building one.
The question I have is, has anyone had success building a tank like this?
Does anyone know anyone that has? Ben, did you try it? It seems fairly easy,
and I could build a 300 gallon tank for about $400.00. Not bad considering
when looking in the Sunday paper, I am finding 180 gallon tanks for a grand.
Garf says they build and use these tanks all the time with no problems. They
say they have never had a leaker.
Any thoughts on this, or feedback?
