Wow!!! those prices are outrageous....You can get a new 180 (acrylic) for
about $550 or so and a 300 for a little over $1000.00  I know that's a lot
more than $400 but then you don't have to worry about it
leaking...guaranteed for life

I know if you wanted a custom tank built like the most price sensitive issue
is the height...the taller the tank the more pressure put on the seam which
means the thicker the material needed and of course the more $$$

I've never built a tank out of wood but I have literally built hundreds out
of acrylic and its really easy if you know how to use a router and some
other basic hand tools...
