If an editor is what you want, you should check out LyX.  It uses
LaTeX internally, and allows you to put raw LaTeX in your document
when you need to.

Also, most syntax highlighting editors for programmers work fine for
LaTeX. Notepad++ has all the features Steven is suggesting you'll need
(I think, I haven't checked if it does regex replace).
