Jonathan, I've been "tutoring" myself on technologies for many years now, and one of the BEST I've found, especially for everything web technology, is Lynda.com . The tutorials are thorough yet concise, come with example files, tell you everything you need to know to get set up, and they are broken up into perfect bite size pieces (usually 4 to 15 minutes each). They cover everything from elementary concepts to advanced methodologies.
Other than Lynda, you may have to hunt and peck Google-style and glean tidbits from here and there to get the same amount of knowledge that Lynda provides...and it'll take you ten times as long, guaranteed. Just my two cents.
