Thanks for your input guys, its a very interesting topic and will be interesting to see how it unfolds in the future. On the whole "niche" thing, it would be nice to be known and sought out for something unique and specific but it just isn't practical, especially at the start of your career. I think it would be more practical in a large city like NYC or LA than in Austin as there are a lot of diverse industries here but it seems the small to medium sized companies require a broadness that larger companies often dont.
