I would like to stress that there are more than enough things to do without a badge. The Frog Design party is cool, I guess, if you want to be in an over crowded bar with wayyy too many people wanting to shove social media consultant cards in your face. If you have an RSS feed reader, you won't get much out of the actual SXSW conference because you've already read what the industry has to say.
Use SXSW as a good opportunity to meet folks in niche areas and spend time with people you follow online.
