For performance and scalability, developers of twitter apps, content
management systems, and other data heavy apps, are looking beyond
traditional databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.

One of the easiest to learn of these "NoSQL" data stores is MongoDB.

On March 27, GeekAustin will be hosting MongoDB Day.
http://mongodbday.eventbrite.com/

MongoDB Day will be half conference, half hands-on workshop. We will
be bringing MongoDB experts from around the country. There will be
both beginning and advanced sessions, case studies of successful
implementations, as well as discussions of topics such as sharding and
MapReduce -- to help you determine when a NoSQL solution is right for
your web application. There will also be a few sessions on integrating
MongoDB with Drupal.

Here's the event details:

MongoDB Day
Date: Saturday, March 27, 11AM - 6PM
Location: Cospace (911 West Anderson Lane #203)
Register at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MongoDB

Hope you can make it!

-Lynn
