Just a quick note. It does not matter where you buy the insurance from in
the end (direct from the insurance company or through a broker), the
insurance premium will be the same by law. And don't get teased into
"preferred" rates that you might not qualify for. The broker can't guarantee
the rate, only the underwriter will ultimately determine what rate you
qualify for.

Btw, I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas as well with a $1,500
deductible. I am pretty happy with it, but compared to a group plan it's
inferior.
