I can't recommend the book "jQuery in Action" highly enough  
(http://www.manning.com/bibeault/) -- will help you really understand what's 
going on with the framework and how to make it do exactly what you want.  Also 
doubles as a fantastic basic guide to understanding Javascript's internals.
