Nope.NameSpace extends the registration by a year when you move it. They also offered a private registration for free the first year and it is pretty cheap after that to maintain it.
http://www.namecheap.com/domains/transfer-a-domain.aspx Keep in mind you have to transfer a week or two before you expire - again this is all from what I remember a month or so back, but NameSpace has it all laid out pretty clearly if you to go their site.
