We're adding discount codes to our shopping cart package and I'd like to ask if there are any resources you recommend for best practices. Its a custom built app, so unfortunately we're able to use plugins.
Questions: -What resources are online we can learn from? A google search brought up mainly plugin focused results. -Should the code contain information such as the discount amount? Or should it be completely random? We're leaning towards random to prevent any unforeseen issues down the road -What length should the code be? We're thinking 10 alpha numeric characters is long enough to be secure but not too unwieldily. Thanks for any help.
