######### REGISTRATION DETAILS #########
Full Name:
----------
GCstar, collection manager
System Group Name:
-----------------
gcstar
Type:
-----
Programs
License:
--------
GNU General Public License V2 or later
Description:
------------
GCstar will be a generic collection manager. It will handle collections
made of movies, books, CDs, ...
It will be first based on GCfilms ( https://gna.org/projects/gcfilms/ ) code.
So you may find very first version in GCfilms CVS (
http://cvs.gna.org/cvsweb/gcfilms/?cvsroot=gcfilms ). It may then be seen as
a GCfilms fork.
First version will try to provide as much feature as GCfilms does but without
its movies specificities.
I create a new project instead of reusing the previous one for many reasons:
- GCfilms will still be active. A new version should be delivered in a few
days/weeks. Then some maintenance could be needed.
- Some people may prefer to have a more dedicated tool. GCfilms will fit this
need and minor improvements could be made on it.
- I think it will take a long time before a really usable version of GCstar
will be ready.
- Have different project members.
- Change the project name.
- Make some changes into files hierarchy (not so easy to do with CVS if
combined with branches).
Do not hesitate to contact me if you need more information.
Thank you,
Tian.
Other Software Required:
------------------------
GCstar will use Gtk2-Perl.
It will also use some Perl modules. The only one I know to be sometimes not
included into standard PErl distributions is XML::Simple.
