Vuori is to be an independent, free and libre GNU/Linux distribution. Current
distributions such as Dragora and Parabola are not new user friendly and
Trisquel has become an LTS only release, meaning newer users will not have
easy access to newer software. The goal of Vuori is to provide a modern,
user-friendly desktop experience, along with enhanced security, and up to date
software. A modern desktop experience will be supplied with gnome-shell as the
desktop environment. Grsec and similar security patches for the linux kernel
will be used to ensure a more secured system. Repositories closely mirroring
updates from original software sources such as KDE or minetest will be kept to
ensure that users will have easy access to new software. To make the system
more user-friendly a new gui for apt-get will also be developed so that users
can have a functional and well organized software management system. Vuori
will be a new GNU/Linux distribution looking to guarantee a user-friendly,
indepedent, and up to date system. Currently, there is no source code for this
project.
