==== Description: ====
Allegro 4 and Allegro 5 are cross-platform (e.g. Linux, Windows, Mac OS X,
Android, iOS) C libraries mainly aimed at video game and multimedia
programming. They handle common low-level tasks such as creating windows,
accepting user input, loading data, drawing images, playing sounds, etc. and
generally abstracting away the underlying platform.
Our current host is SourceForge but we are looking to move away.
Web site and project page:
http://alleg.sourceforge.net/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/alleg/
The source code is visible here:
http://sourceforge.net/p/alleg/allegro/ci/5.1/tree/
==== Other Software Required: ====
By its nature, Allegro abstracts over platform-specific APIs for multimedia.
For Free operating systems, that includes X11 and OpenGL.
Optional dependencies: libpng, zlib, libjpeg, FreeType, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC,
DUMB, ALSA, PulseAudio, OpenAL, PhysicsFS
The build system uses CMake.
The documentation system uses Pandoc.
==== Other Comments: ====
We use git for version control so we are looking at hosting the mailing list,
web site and release files on here. We would not use the CVS/SVN hosting. If
that is against Gna policies, then please reject this application.
