Right, so we have several bug reporters here and it is difficult to know 
whether you're all having the same problem and/or hardware here.
So what I'd like you to do is to install the latest snapshot, 
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules , reboot, test 
what is working and what isn't, then attach an alsa-info to this report: 
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/AlsaInfo
Then I can help you sort out whether you're having the same hardware or if you 
need to file a separate bug. Thanks!
