Slowness of NEF: I did not really take care where exactly it was slow, it was just taking ages on my atom netbook computer.
>From my experience, it takes too much time to generate the preview images, which is typical to ufraw. Since F-Spot was not working well, I used my own scripts to copy and convert, and I found that by far the fastest (and best!) way to generate previews or fast examples is to extract the embedded preview jpeg. My Nikon D300s embeds a JPEG in full size (no idea at the moment whether it does this by default or whether there is a configuration setting to choose) into the NEF, which can be extracted extremely fast and shows the picture exactly the way the camera has intended. Only disadvantage is that this jpeg lacks the exif and other data. You cound accelerate shotwell extremely if you try to extract the embedded preview jpeg, if it exists and is large enough, and convert the raw otherwise. regards -- Shotwell ignores raw/audio/video files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/663302 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Registry Administrators, which is the registrant for Shotwell. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~registry Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~registry More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
