Using the advice here: http://www.bigbluecup.com/yabb/index.php?topic=29886.70;wap2 I was able to get sound working in overgod. Not exactly sure what did it, if I really needed to sudo modprobe snd_virmidi or what. But I did see the midi devices, etc, setup a symlink, and it worked! I will check what a fresh boot looks like, I just wanted to get the link posted.
