There is no "logical flaw" to what I said.
People who have been victims of racism or other forms of bigotry rarely find
anything particularly amusing about it, and logically I cannot see why they
should. They tend not to intellectualize it the way those of us who have
not been systematically victimized can. You are certainly free to include
yourself out of "us", if you believe yourself to have been the victim of
racism. I have certainly been treated rudely by people who apparently
didn't like the fact I was white, but I can always retreat to my middle class
existence, so it's difficult for me to compare my temporary inconvenience to the
experiences of, say, kids growing up not far from me in Southeast DC. For
me, it's a minor thing, for them, it's every moment of their lives.
