Suse 7.1 kernel 2.4.4 My system locked up today, and spat the dummy. Upon reboot I got a kernel panic ....unable to mount rootfs. I was able to get back in using the Suse rescue disk but unable to mount any of my partitions. I ran REISERFSCK.
REISERFSCK 2000 ReiserFS version 3.5.29 Will read-only check consistency....... Will replay just like mounting would. Do you want to run this program ? .....Yes Replaying journal MAKE SURE THAT YOUR KERNEL IS ABLE TO MOUNT REISERFS Replay-journal: mount returned unexpected value: Block device required. As I am not on my usual system I cannot get at my Reiser Mailing list resource. Can anyone suggest some first steps to tackle this problem ? There are a number of important cad drawings on the disk.
