   What are you talking about?  Since when does GDI have a concept
of double buffered 2D rendering?

   I don't think Render was intended for games.  But there's already
the X double-buffer extension which works for all 2D rendering, which
as far a I can tell, is more than Windows ever offered for 2D rendering.
