database applications developed and maintained through out the project + Work closely with the database lead, system architect, technical lead, development lead, QA lead and the operations lead in designing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, upgrading, and operating Microsoft SQL server databases + Lead implementation of large scale OLTP and OLAP databases involving high volume transactions, data warehousing, analysis, data mining, integration, replication, reporting and security services. + Track and report progress and performance on a weekly basis to database lead + Understand the client requirements, and work with architect, system analyst to properly design a robust data model. + Employ industry best practices, and standards while designing data models. + Plan, and migrate data from an Oracle database to SQL server without losing key semantics of existing data such as sequence of a table, records, key field values, etc. + Understand existing data models in Oracle database and re-design or create a new data model in SQL server. + Leverage SQL server 2005 capabilities in migrating data from oracle + Understand the performance requirements of client and employ the best solution to achieve the same using SQL server. + Develop and implement data backup and recovery strategies and procedures + Day to day operations of profiling, logging, auditing, monitoring databases in Primary and secondary data centers. + Data base scripting for import and export of data files from different formats. + Use SQL reporting capability and along with Business objects adhoc reporting capability to generate reports. + Work with Search engine solutions and optimize the data structures to best work with its configurations. + Understand the requirements of Data quality and customize COTS software to work with the database + Fully leverage security mechanism of SQL server so that, the data is protected all the time. + Understand the data encryption appliance such as Decru, to encrypt the data at rest + Identity management software integration using LDAP based Active directory and Microsoft Identity Integration Server + Ensure projects are closed successfully with necessary documentation, acceptance of all deliverables by clients or stakeholders, training and adoption of delivered product or service by its end users, and transition to operations with necessary maintenance & support team, structure and processes are set up in place + Be a self-directed performer, innovator, and leader + Energize teams by creating a positive work environment + Demonstrate a commitment to personal excellence, ethical behavior, and integrity *Experience Required:* + 10+ years of experience in IT with primary focus in designing, developing, implementing and administering large scale databases + 6+ years of RDBMS experience using Microsoft SQL server + 6+ years of experience in database design using Erwin other database modeling tool, and database development experience such as ADO.Net, stored procedures, triggers, views, etc., using SQL & TSQL in Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, PL/SQL, Oracle and ANSI standards + 4+ years of experience in database backup and recovery + 4+ years of experience in data migration, replication, quality, warehousing and reporting + 2+ years of experience in using Business Objects, Web intelligence, Crystal reports, for both canned and adhoc reports + 2+ years of Perl, PL SQL scripting experience for Oracle data migration. + 2+ years of Solaris, Unix scripting experience for Oracle data migration. + Strong knowledge desired in LDAP based Active Directory, Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) 2003. + 2+ years of experience in implementing data cleansing solutions. + 4+ years of experience in performance tuning and load testing of database. + 4+ years of experience in understanding and interpreting system design specifications, which uses Object-oriented artifacts in
