Dave, If this cable is going into a more or less permanent installation, RG-142/U should be okay- assuming that you specified that type of cable because you need the double shields.
But, if you need this cable for bench use or for an application that may move or vibrate, perhaps RG-400/U is a better choice. RG-142/U has a solid steel center conductor that conducts well at high frequencies because it has a silver plating, but it can develop fatigue fractures over time and cause noise problems. RG-400/U is identical to RG-142/U in both appearance and specifications, except that its center conductor is stranded and is made of silver-plated copper.
