Did you do any parts transplanting on the boards? Sometimes reflowing
the solder around the finals will float out some black swarf, lift it
out with a q-tip until it is clean - retest. Spurs when the power is
turned down around mid-range indicate a failing output transistor, take
a crayon or lipstick and make a mark on the finals and run the pa deck
into a dummy load till you see the color changing with a flashlight,
there will be one part not heating the same and this one has either a
bad cap or a failing base-emitter junction, sometimes you can reflow the
solder joints and make these come back if the radio was really wet (in a
car wreck and the case twisted open while pa deck was hot allowing water
to chill the parts to quickly), try the reflowing method first before
condemning any parts.
