Well let's look at this from this prospective. I removed the power amps and the power supplies from the purc 5000 cabinet. I then put them in a cabinet with an antenna relay from RF Parts. This power amp, on VHF, is capable of 500 watts rf output on FM and on SSB. You need a manual to help you understand what the modules are expecting, so get a manual if possible. The manuals that come with the PURC are quite large.
I do not use the exciter rf module, I excite the power amp with a FT-100. The results are most impressive, especially with an antenna with 9db gain fed with half inch hardline. "Can you here me now!" Watch out for heat dissipation from the power amp.
