Ok...fill us in. What are the claims of the two
brands? It doesn't hurt to mention the brands as
well, because over the years, the chances are
pretty good that someone here has used them.

Not necessarily. Take two types "commercial" repeaters
we have here.

a) Mastr II UHF/VHF: 100% duty cycle claimed. Would
I trust them at 100% duty cycle? Sure.

b) Kenwood TKR-820 (UHF): 50% duty cycle at 20 watts
and 100% at 5 watts. Would I trust them for 100%
duty cycle at 20 watts...nope (the manufacturer states
that). But for Ham use, I wouldn't think twice about 
using them at 20 watts.  They would and do work fine.

Sometimes you have to look at what the application
is before making up your mind.
