First - does it work on the freqs it came with? cg=channel guard,
nb=noise blanker, if it a m-pro instead of mastr2 it will have peach
colored castings where the xtals mount and there will be 2 swing out
trays, one is the tx on top - the larger one, remove the driver tube
before trying to get the new freq. to oscillate excess mismatch to this
tube will cause plate heating and quick failure while you are twisting
those coils, I think it is a 8107 and last 2 I got from auntique radio
they were 25 bux new-old-stuff - but it will go to 53.19 without any
deep mods. Same for mastr2 - no big mods just make sure it works before
dropping good money into a bad unit. Either one makes a good repeater as
long as you keep the fan in the circuit, do not defeat any of those
switches on the high power pa deck, there are some lethal voltages in
there - 1300vdc for the 3cxx00 - before you power it up you might want
to check the bleeder resistors for continuity on each of the high
voltage caps, if any of them are burnt replace the set as it is just too
risky at that voltage level. If you get careless as I have done you will
be staring at one really bright flamethrower, it can easily light up
steps going up 2 floors at night, and I hear it looks really cool from
the mcdonalds across the street.
