Hello !

I am running a VHF repeater with two vertical dipole antennas, one
for tx and one for rx. They a mounted on the south leg of a 30m high
square tower that is 1m x 1m at the top.

I have no duplexer here, so that's why i use two antennas, and notch
filters.

I want to try to get a more omnidirectional pattern by using two
vertical antennas with about 3db gain.

What distance from the tower to the antenna should i use to get the
best omnidirectional pattern ?

Will two vertical antennas work better than the dipoles i already
have in use today ?

Thank you in advance for the reply
