Robert, if you use an old bag phone, that has had service but now the service has been turned off, all you can do is call 911. I too, plan on doing the same thing. I have two bag phones, only need one.

Just really wanted to have one in the repeater shack for a "911" connection. Looking to possibly drop the phone patch from our club repeater (save $) and for those who "want the patch in case of an emergency" could have the "911" auto patch.
