...be careful re: dialling 911 from the autopatch. Remember that in
most areas of the country, 911 & cell phones act funny... Not that
many areas have this yet, but as e911 rolls out and PSAP's are
updated to use positional info, any ham calling 911 through your
patch may end up giving the answering agency incorrect data.
This is a problem with allowing 911 calls through hardline patches
as well... Let's say my repeater covers 6 counties in 3 states, and
an autopatch user dials 9-1-1 from the patch. The 911 center
("PSAP") will see the address & return phone # of the repeater,
which could be 50 miles and 3 juristicions from the emergency.
(Sorry if a bit off-topic; but htis one bit us once...)
