I am really surprised about the negative comments on
the Kenwood repeater topic here lately. We run dozens
of TKR-850's commercially and have never had a problem
with any of them. We've sold hundreds and hundreds of
they're radios, and have never had any problems with
them either (abuse aside). The Trident controllers
have given us no problems either.
I do beleive that lemons exist. I would like to
think that Kenwood takes care of their own, but I say
this from a dealer point of view.
I do know that when it comes to them writing Beta
Firmware, they definitely charge by the hour. I
beleive they should be doing it free of charge.
