Josh,
I saw several 25mm ammo boxes on eBay last week... made of a polyester
composite material, and plenty large enough for 2 Maxtracs... they were
also under 20 bucks each.

Good hunting..

Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Waterproof case for a link repeater?

I actually have two questions...first some background...

My Search & Rescue unit has a couple of Motorola CDM-1250 mobile
radios that I've been asked to turn into a link repeater. One
suggestion was to use the Motorola RICK unit which I can get for
$360 in town here. Another suggestion was to use an Extender Module
from Echo Communications which is about $125. Does any have
experience with the Echo Communications setup? Echo claims they have
a better design than the RICK and that the radios wouldn't require
any programming changes where the RICK would require modifications.

My other question is about a box to put it in. On a search awhile
ago there was a group that had a bright orange Pelican type case
with 2 MaxTrac units mounted inside, along with a RICK. There were
connections on the outside for antennas and such. Unlike all of the
Pelican cases I can find this box was an ammo can style, long and
skinny, with the top opening up. Because it was ammo can style it
could be opened, laid on its side, and used as a base unit with 2
separate radios in one clean box. Does anyone know where I can find
a box like this...I have looked all over and can't find anything
ammo can style.

Thanks,
Josh
