Kevin and all;

I am not often moved to post as I try and remember that which was told to me
as a child - "Richard, you have two ears and one mouth so it would behoove
you to listen twice as much as you talk. Also be mindful of the fact that
the ears are always open and can except input at any time. However, the
mouth has a flap on it and it is ok to close it occasionally." With that
in mind I will try and be as brief as possible.

I am surprised at the implementation of a poll to decide ones continued
membership. I believe the decision should be made by you as the list owner.
I am of the opinion that whomever is determined to be disruptive to the list
or, continues to use the list to promote that which is not related to the
purpose of the list, should be warned to cease and desist. They should be
told what the consequences will be in the event they fail to comply. If
that person continues then they should be banned from the list.

I liked Doug's posting regarding free speech. It is refreshing to know that
in this day of so many being concerned about "political correctness" that
there are some (Doug Bade) that have not lost site of reality and that which
is right or wrong when it come to force-feeding ones beliefs and opinions on
another.

There are many on this list involved in communications as a business. Doug
and his dad Cliff W8CJB, own Cleveland Communications and I have never known
them to exploit their membership in this or any other list as a means to
promote their business interest. While we all may be grateful for a
business owner to mention goods or services that they may be able to provide
to list members, there is a fine line that should not be crossed except on
rare occasions. I believe that line has repeatedly been crossed by some.
Those that are guilty should be warned one time. As stated in the first
paragraph, if they continue then banishment is in order.

Now I go back to the listening/reading mode.

73 to all
