Ok that's fine but most of us would run the radio as the exciter into an amp or just a link. I am just saying they work well. The new TK--8180K2 is much better and they really run well. All the outputs on the DB-25

Well, 10 watts is not much of a repeater! I run GE MastrII's which have run 110 watts for over 26 years and I dont need any fans. I dont need two radios.I know the receiver front end wont get swamped and the PA wont overheat and go spurious and I paid less for my repeater than you paid for one radio. I have put up over 300 repeaters over the last 35 years and I know from experience what will work ok,and what will work in harsh conditions under heavy use when it really counts. I'd put a properly set up Micor or MastrII up against any Kenwood mobile, any day. 73,Lee,N3APP Mike Mullarkey wrote: >Well, > >I have over 10 of them in service and as long as you DO NOT run them over >10wt they will survive with a small fan on the tx radio.
