Just a Sidebar Note about the Dayton Hamvention.
Last year was the "take-back" year for
DARA (the Dayton Ham Club), when DARA ran
the entire Hamvention again for the first
time in many years, if not over a decade.
As far as I know all the DARA People were
unpaid and pitched in very hard to try and
turn things around.
For many obvious reasons, there was a lot
of jerkyness to the first year back. The
"people" or "business" previously running
the Hamvention (into the ground) were not
happy about being booted out, hence the
DARA Group had not much in the way of
legacy information supplied from the former
"managers." Still, they were happy things
seemed to go as well as they did and things
are now back on a very positive track going
forward.
The Hamvention is once again back to a more
Grass-Roots operation by the DARA folks and
the do care very much about your opinions
and feedback. If you were not treated well
last year they would like to know about it
and hope every year forward is very enjoyable.
I can forward some of your comments directly
to the DARA big cheese types (I'll be staying
at one members house) Suggestions are always
welcome.
Watch for Dayton to improve each year forward
and I hope to see you there.

beam antenna mounted on the plastic helmet
